Description

The award-winning series returns for an emotional and spectacular final season, and everyone is playing for keeps. The East Dillon Lions are back and competing at a top caliber level, but that only means the town’s expectations are running higher than ever. Egos boil over, and Coach Taylor is forced to mediate tensions on the team. But when a controversy erupts that takes the whole town by storm, he feels he’s losing his grip on the team and threatens to suspend Vince in an attempt to regain control. Luke faces pressure at the prospect of becoming QB-1, Billy learns some surprising news from Mindy, Becky starts a surprising new job and Tami is caught off guard by Julie’s plans. And when it’s time for Tim’s parole hearing, family and friends return from seasons past to lend their support and help Tim reassess his life. Will the Lions go state? Will the coach leave the team? That may be the least of the town’s worries in the powerful series finale that culminates in a true championship ending to the popular show.

Warm, sweet, heartfelt. Touching. Emotional. Realistic(mostly). Simply a well acted and well executed show from start to finish. So glad Kyle Chandler finally won recognition for his amazing, complex and lived-in character.

I didn't actually start watching Friday Night Lights til season 5 was over but this series was one of the best I have ever seen it had great characters and it wasn't just about football. This show showed how football tied together a community in small town Dillion, TX. I have all the seasons and will watch them the rest of my life. Once you start watching this series you become a fan for life!! : )

I love this show.. Kyle Chandler just won an Emmy.. FNL is one of very few dramas NBC had left that was good. And they canceled it. FNL is the best true to life drama around.

Never watched this show when it was on TV but in the last 2 months have watched seasons 1-5 straight through and it has been one of the most amazing TV experiences ever. This was a show I could NOT stop watching - into the wee hours - I devoured it. I was born and raised in Texas and this show captures the essence of Friday nights & Texas football like no other. Great for a long plane rides or anytime you want to get immersed in a magical world so close to reality here in Texas that it made me laugh, cry, and feel sad this show has ended. Warning though - characters and plot are completely addictive and you will be hungering for more when the last credits roll.

Kyle Chandlers portrayal of Coach Eric Taylor is fantastic. It feels as though you are part of the team and he is imposing good morals and southern country humbility, and respect upon the audience, a trait which has been forgotten in much of America. This is by far one of the greatest cast television shows i have ever seen. You start watching an episode here, an episode there; within three episodes you start having FNL marathons.

FNL is and always will be one of my most favorite shows. The quality of drama and entertainment they put out was all American, spot on and the acting is definitely the best on television. This was a well written, well thought out and well dramatized program. I will miss the lives of these characters but am grateful to those who wrote them, played them, made us fall in love and care about them, root for them, get angry at them, forgive them, etc. I could go on! In the television world, this was by far too good a show compared to most of the junk that's on the air these days. I'm not surprised that a quality show would be cancelled by NBC, it seems they rather spend money putting out more Law and Order shows and bogus reality tv, among other shows that barely last more than 2 seasons, it's really hard to invest in any show NBC puts out. Nonetheless, FNL was their saving grace, but now that it's over, I doubt I'll invest in another NBC show because they'll just cancel the good ones anyway!

It's rare when media or content can not only invoke such strong emotions but also capture reality so well. It's ashame more people didn't watch this. The show for me, only most of the nonsensical fodder out there not only made you think but made me want to be a better person. The everyday decisions and life that we all live is far more interesting, to me at least, then a spy.lawyer/hot model fighting cartoonish villains.
  • Great show
