Dear Itunes. I know that i speak for all my fellow whovians out there when i say that classic episodes of Doctor Who on itunes is a great idea! I am very excited and thrilled with the convenience and accessabily to these episodes that i now have, especially here in America. It doesn't really seem though, that this list of classic WHO serials has grown much. Please put some more classic episodes up, especially for the first Doctor, William Hartnell. I strongly beleive that whovians like me will purchase the episodes. We are asking for more!

I watched this 4-parter for the first time because I love the current show and wanted to be more familiar with earlier Doctor Who adventures. This group is really bad. But that's sort of the charm of old Dr. Who in my opinion. So bad you can't stop watching. Dont expect much if you buy these. If you are a fan already, then you'll like the video quality. I watched them on my iphone and it looked really good.

Someone posted it is Sarah Jane Smith in this-- It is definitely not Sarah Jane Smith. It is Elizabeth Shaw. Sarah Jane does not come in to the Pertwee's era until his last season. The companions in order in his era are Liz Shaw and UNIT, Jo Grant/UNIT, and Sarah Jane Smith/UNIT.
  • iTunes organize the Episodes

If you order more than one of these series iTunes gives them all the show name Doctor Who: The Classic Series so the episodes get all jumbled together. Great to see classic Doctor Who though.
  • Still stands up!

Jon Pertwee was my favorite "classic" Doctor and this was a wonderful first appearance; one of my all-time favorites!
  • A wonderful addition! Glad to see Jon Pertwee again!

A BIG THANK YOU to Apple from bringing the Classic Dr Who to a whole new audience! To top it off, several of these shows haven't made it to DVD yet, and that makes it all the more exciting. PBS showed these back in the 70s and 80s, and they edited all the episodes together in 90 minute installments. This is the first time I've seen these unedited and running their full length! Keep it up, Apple! Hopefully we will get some more episodes with the original Doctor, William Hartnell and his encounters with the Daleks, along with with more episodes featuring Patrick Troughton and, of course, Tom Baker and Peter Davison too!

It is nice to see the originals again and if you are a fan of the new series you can see where he came from and how he has changed through the years. This episode introduces Sarah Jane Smith, arguably the most popular of the Doctor's companions, making it a special episode of the original Who series. You see her before she became the Sarah Jane reintroduced in the new Doctor Who and her own spin off (the second one) Sarah Jane Adventures. John Pertwee helped define the role with more of the Doctor's ecentricities that were started by Patrick Troughton and expanded upon by his later incarnations. Enjoy it for what it is: Good, fun science fiction. I hope the BBC sees fit to add many more of the original series on here. The labels should be setup better though as it just becomes a long string of episode numbers.

Apple iTunes definitely gets applause for adding the good Doctor. . . BUT WHERE ON EARTH IS TOM BAKER?
  • Proper start

This series with the Third Doctor directly ties in to the first episode ("Rose") of the new series with the first appearance of the Ninth Doctor and introdues us to the Nestene. I'm assuming Russel T. Davies borrowed for this particular series because he saw it as classic Doctor Who. As much as I'd like iTunes to carry the newer episodes, I think Whovians, old and new, would benefit from a look at the the show's history and how the two universes of Doctors then and now combine.
