Doctor Who: Creature from the Pit

Man, I wish they had that one episode with all of the first FIVE doctors in it....that was my favorite episode when i was a kid. Remember that one? from the 20th anniversary of Dr. Who?

Why does everyone focus on poor sets or cheesey dialoguue? Why can't people just enjoy the stry and lay off the comparison to more modern scifi with CGI?

I've finished with these. Now where are the rest?

Why is this episode available when the truly brilliant 'City of Death' is not? Nonetheless, a great little romp.

Ok the shows are only 22 minutes long and maybe they should only charge $1.99 for all the shows together. Other than that its a great program just need to remember its the story not the graphics

While we all know a staple of the Dr. Who series are the cheesy sets/special effects, this one is probably the worst of them all. Anyone who can keep a straight face while the Dr is being chased by a huge green plastic blob with this big, uh, appendage sticking out front isn't paying attention. If you can keep from getting absolutely hysterical when the Dr grabs hold of it and starts talking to it, putting his mouth against it and blowing, etc -- you're dead. I know in my heart the entire cast was laying on the floor, fighting to keep the laughter from being heard on screen. How Tom Baker managed to keep a straight face is beyond me. That said, it was the usual fun -- maybe even more so BECAUSE of this nasty looking monster -- with Baker being the best of the Time Lords. Given the following the show has always had, I don't know why they didn't get in a better quality of actors. Baker is always good, of course, but Romana and the rest of the idiots are generally barely adiquate. Sarah Jane was always much better than Romana in the acting department. For the money, yeah, go for it. This isn't the best show but it may well be the funniest, abet intentionally or not. (I kind of suspect Baker and Company was pulling our legs on this one.)

An overall enjoyable group of episodes despite the funny looking monster. Tom Baker is always excellent, and Romana is a fox.

Erato, Erato, Erato. Well the production team kinda goofed on this one. Funnily enough Lalla Ward was doing a script that was meant for Mary Tamm (Key to Time, Apple.) so she plays a slightly different Romana. Also the Lady Karela was a part of the cast of the 1st Doctor Who adventure ever. But Erato....well...yeah. Ahem. AS I've said before in other reviews DALEKS apple DALEKS. Also e-space and the Key to Time. And Peter Davison and DALEKS!!!!
