Spoilers: Superman dies. All Star Superman is in my opinion the greatest Superman movie, and the greatest greatest love letter the character could ever have. Even though it's a movie about the death of Superman, the story decided instead to use the opportunity to show how Superman lived, illustrating along the way that it wasn't his amazing abilities that made him super, but rather his personality, his values, and the way he lived his life. The unfortunate side effect of this kind of story is that the action sequences take a back seat to the drama. This movie is Superman's bucket list, and it breathes new life into the character by remind us there's so much more to him than being the perfect invincible boy scout.

The story was interesting and the animation was outstanding. A no-brainer for any fan of the source material. This was the best animated superman I have seen

I'll say it's refreshing to have a good story paired with great animation. And surprised an animated movie is just as much to rent on itunes as a live action blockbuster movie. Bit pricey tbh. And what's with itunes only allowing a 24 hour period to watch the rental once you start it? Cheap arses, for what your charging a 3 or 5 day rental is appropriate. Just like Apple tho. Had to rent it twice because i didn't finish it.

Hope you're flying around in the DC Universe Heaven in your own cape next to Superman! Im gonna DEFINITELY miss you, just like Anyone who loves Super-Heroes, bc you wrote some of the TOP, BEST comics/movies/tv shows EVER!!! Things won't be the same with out you, but your work will carry your spirit here forever! Thank You, Dwayne.

This is the worst Superman animated movie I have seen. Superman is not his usual heroic self in this movie. The clear lines between right and wrong, good and evil and the moral clarity that make a great Superman story special are utterly missing here. As a case in point, instead of being willing to say "Truth, Justice, and the American way", they actually say "Truth, Justice and all that stuff"… What stuff? I true here says what he believes in, not "stuff"! This movie has a few good moments, but if you watch Superman for heroic action and a true hero, you won't lie this one nearly as much as the other Superman animated movies.

No…no he doesn't. To all the whiners, keep in mind, that the doomsday issues of Superman dying back in the 90's killed off death completely. This means the writers and artists of the comic universe can kill and resurrect at their own whim. This is just one other Superman story in the DC universe so get over it.

This animated movie is the best effort to date. Its a shame that the research and intelligence to achieve scientific explanations of critical points of this movie aren't always apparent in other attempts. Moving music, great character build: this is one writer who's flame burnt out long before their time.

I didn't know how this movie would end. It had so many turns in it, and Super actually dies!! can't believe it.

Can't wait till the next one.
