I rarely watch a movie more than once or twice. This movie is in my permanent library and I watch it at least once a year. Awesome sailing sequences, cinematography. The music is amazing and goes well with the action. The narrator is well known and incredible to listen to. I personally think this movie is to the sailing world what Top Gun is to the flying world, or the movie Grand Prix is to the Racing world. All comparable with fantastic scores and action/cinematography. And to be honest.....I loved the whomper ;)

Love the movie (acting, directing, plot , screenplay, cinematography). But the video is only a notch above SD quality, not a true HD transfer improvement. I’d really like to see Sony redo this video with higher standards.

Almost like the real thing on the open water. Too bad there is little to choose from.

Wind is to sailing movies what Bruce Dern's "On The Edge" is to running -- simple the best movie of the genre. The sailing sequences portray it as it really happens and feels. They put me back in the cockpit.

Although I am not a "sail boat" person, I did enjoy this movie and it even taught me some things concerning sailing. The events were so compelling that it made you feel like you were part of the crew. I never knew how much work and brains it took for this sport.

Well the tank testing in the river is a bit much, as well as the whomper.....but the camera work is great as are the sailors, a number of whom have sailed in the America's Cup!

Awful movie. Silly from start to finish. If you love sailing, go sailing instead of wasting your time with this movie.
  • Simply the best sailing movie ever...

Although many complain of a weak strory line, the music and intense saling sequences with their FANTASTIC cinematography are worth the price of admission...if you sail, or if you wonder why other people do, watch this movie!

If you sail, you must have this movie! Not the best cinematic feat ever, but what can I say, I am a sailor.
