This certainly was an interesting one. The mask from the trailer is what drew me in. Right away though, certain plot aspects made no sense to me. The synopsis says the initial crime happens at a college graduation party and then the girls reunite 5 years later where the real destruction goes down. Sooooo if they’re supposed to be college-aged and then 20 somethings, why did they cast a bunch of women in their 30s? I literally looked up the ages to be sure I wasn’t crazy. The youngest was 31, the oldest was 39. I know some 30 something women can pass as 20 somethings but no offense, not this crowd. And that’s fine. They were all talented, beautiful actresses, so I don’t know why the writers couldn’t have written them a more realistic backstory. Unless all 6 of them were supposed to be really late bloomers. But whatever. The scares aren’t really there...in fact the scariest thing to me was the typed letter at the end that didn’t include an Oxford comma. The movie had a lot of humor in it though. A fair amount of that being dark humor. I did enjoy that. Another thing that absolutely baffles me, though, is the billing. The woman that plays Becca (Monique Rosario) wasn’t listed when the other 5 were women were (on the page where you can watch the trailer, rent, or buy the movie). And I was like, ok, maybe they ran out of space. BUT THEN when they list the cast during the closing credits- they list the 5 other main women characters and then 3 people who had basically one liners in the film, and then the actress that plays Becca. Becca had the same amount of screen time as the other women. They literally listed someone called, Detective Miller, above her. Who the eff is Detective Miller? If he had any lines at all, it was one at the very beginning. I mean that’s kinda messed up. I don’t think any of the other women would be considered bigger names than the actress that played Becca and the 3 billed above her are definitely no names. And the credits weren’t in order of appearance or anything like that. Becca showed up way before Detective Miller (whoever the eff that is) and the other 2 virtual extras. Aaaaand not to stir the pot...but Becca was the only black actress. So whether or not they meant to look a little racially biased, they did. It probably wasn’t racially motivated but it certainly seems rude. Becca fought with a bottle of Jack, she deserves a lot better that! So anyway, that and the Oxford comma incidents are the scariest parts of this movie to me. Rent it if you’re looking for a mild amount of entertainment. Don’t rent it if you’re looking for real scares.

Great slasher film, but one of the deaths I was a bit cheesy. Loved the twist and the dark comedy and the suspense.
