Description

More than a year has passed since Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans, but residents of the Crescent City are finding it harder than ever to rebuild their lives. So why bother to stay? Because it's New Orleans. HBO presents Season Two of this acclaimed drama series that focuses on a diverse group of residents as they try to rebuild their lives through the enduring music and cultural traditions that make them, and the city, so unique. As Season Two picks up, life has become even tougher for the musicians, restaurateurs, radio deejays and community leaders who were introduced in the first season. Some have left the city, others are being forced to sell, and crime, drug use, corruption and graft are threatening the city's recovery. But those who remain continue to show the proud and defiant spirit that defines the city as they press forward, committed to holding on to their ideal of what New Orleans is, and should be.

An excellent series, but I can't say that I'm impressed with an overnight price hike from $14.99 to $21.89 for SD.

Just finished watching season two of this awesome series. As a third generation New Orleanian, it makes me proud to call New Orleans my home. The good, the bad, the ugly its all here. Perfectly captures our lifestyle and our traditions but most of all the real meaning of what it means Love New Orleans. No place like it anywhere in the world. Coming back better and stronger than ever! Yea you right
  • GREAT! Perfectly Captures the Culture and Flavor of New Orleans

"Treme" is an underappreciated gem for TV. I do not understand how it is consistently overloooked during the television awards season because TV does not get much better than this series. Set in post Katrina New Orleans, it is focuses on the interconnection between the people, the music and the City. In fact, New Orleans is THE major character of the show. As a former resident of and frequent visitor to New Orleans, I return "home" with each episode. Like David Simon's previous series "The Wire", "The Corner", and "Homicide Life in the Street", the storytelling is intricate and compelling and the painstaking effort to capture the unique culture of the setting is evident. Season Two is as strong as, if not stronger than Season One. If you are looking for a lot of action, "Treme" is not the show for you. However, if you value careful character development, great acting, and outstanding music then I highly recommend that you check out this show. Thank you HBO and i-Tunes for making this show available.
