Update 3/20/2012: Season 2 has been available on Australia iTunes since July 2011!!! Why this absurdly long delay in the US? From New Orleans. Loved the story lines and characters (and actor friends!) in the smart and atmospheric series. But, why the big delay on Season 2? Want it!

I grew up in New Orleans and I have to admit that it is normally difficult to watch shows written about my home town as they are so poorly done. David Simon and crew really got it right when writing and producing this series on NOLA. Watching the show really hits a lot of emotions for me and stirs up a lot that was settled after Katrina. I debated whether this was a negative or a positive at times but clearly it is the result of writing that captures the heart and soul of a very special city during a difficult time. I have travelled all around the globe and no place is like New Orleans. Buenos Aires and a few other cities offer wonderful cultural experiences, but none match the unique fabric of this city. It is rare that you find a city with people who love a city so deeply the they are all under the same emotional skin and Treme does a wonderful job of capturing this struggle in their lens. Thank you David Simon for all of your hard work and dedication.

Having lived in New Orleans in the mid 90's I grew to love this city like it was home. To go visit and listen to the music and eat the food always made my family smile. After Katrina, I thought, it will never be the same place but I visited anyway in late 2006 with a group helping to rebuild. I cried for an entire week straight cause I couldn't believe what I saw. Then thinking about it, New Orleans is not just a place it is a people. The people of this community make New Orleans what it is and the TV series Treme shows us just that. As i thinkl about all the New Orleans means to me and my family I can only say Thank You to the native New Orleanians & HBO for going back home and bringing back that spirit we all know and love.

My wife and I don't watch much tv but we bought all of season one and had to ration ourselves so that we wouldn't stay up all night and watch every episode. Now our only question is when can we start getting season 2? Do we have to wait for the whole season to be over?

Can't get one of the episodes to load, so not watching until it does. Says it is a 'corrupted file' and after repeat attempts, I'll have to just wait a day or two to see if it can work.

I'm a New Orleans native now living in the NYC area. Movies and TV shows never get the New Orleans accent right. By using local actors and musicians and paying attention to the details, Treme nails it. It brings back all of the pain of Katrina, the frustration of the days after the storm and the joy and pride of being from one of the most unique cities in the world.
  • Totally awesome. Really hits home if you've experienced NOLA.
