If you are fond of reality or adventure shows - this is a MUST HAVE! Nothing is sugar-coated, the team leader keeps very professional, patient, but frank. I dont really see any attempts of making things over the top or hollywood. You're just along a TRUE adventure with REAL dangers very apparent. Kudoes to Discovery in making a great adventure and test straight-laced, realistic, and entertaining...

I loved season 1 and this season is even better! Russell and his climbers are interesting and engaging - their relationships are honest and realistic. It's a great peak into someplace I'll never get to!
  • Over the top drama.

Yes we get it...mountaineering is dangerous. Unfortunately the show attempts to prove that to you over and over, unnecessarily. Just depicting the events themselves without Hollywoodizing them would have gone a long way.

Simply outstanding and riveting. Being able to follow the travails and triumphs of this expedition was nothing short of awesome. The only thing I can say in the way of a critique is that the narrator tries to create additional suspense by reminding the audience that this is like, uh, really really dangerous. It is so clear to anyone that this is dangerous beyond imagination, and I found it a bit annoying and a distraction. All things considered however, that was a minor annoyance given how great this series is. Hard to imagine you won't love this. If you have trekked in the Everest region, you will be especially thrilled to watch this. Finally, I found the 3-D artwork of the mountain itself to have greatly enhanced the series...really gave you a sense of where they were and what they were up against. One last thing: would be great if, in future series, they spent more time interviewing the Sherpas about their impressions of these bold and mostly well to do westerners who they help get up and down the mountains. They are the unsung heroes of this series.

This show brings fans of the infamous book "Into Thin Air" to life...David Breshears and the others would be proud of the stunning cinematography and woven story lines for each climber. Reach life continues to eclipse story telling and a minute of real footage on Everest is worth a 100,000 words! If you love climbing - you'll be glued to your set for this series.

YAY!!! Although this isn't usually my favorite genre of television, Everest goes above and beyond. I loved the 1st season and when my brother bought this season for me I was so happy! Not only is this show educational, it is also exciting and thought-provoking. Buy it!!!!
  • Great Series-Raised Interesting Issues

This is a terrific series--Lots of real-life drama and an interesting cast of characters. I'd love to know more about how Discovery put it together. After watching both seasons, I thought the series raised a single overriding question--How far do you go in risking the lives of others (Sherpas and climbing team members) when a team member purposely disobeys or ignores the expedition leader's commands? The expedition leader featured in this series showed extraordinary patience and caring toward people who purposely ignored his commands to abandon their summit attempts--sometimes putting other's lives in great danger. My opinion? Those who disobey orders and imperil the lives of others should be left to fend for themselves. (But that's a debate more appropriate in a different forum.) All in all, this was a thought-provoking and fun viewing experience.
