I love Everest Beyond the Limit. You are kept on the edge of your seat the whole time, and I get cold just watching it. The footage of the Himilayas is absolutely breathtaking, and is as close as most of us are ever going to come to seeing Mt. Everest in person. You get to know the expedition leader, Russell Brice, the climbers and their personalities, and they are all VERY entertaining to watch, which I like. Tim is my favorite! He's a hottie, and his personality made this season SO much fun to watch. Terry O'Connor (the expedition doctor) and Mogens Jensen are both good looking to so ladies, this season has some eye candy lol : ) It is gut wrenching to watch at times, and you see first hand exactly what climbing the worlds tallest mountian is like,. Nothing is sugar coated at all either. It is reality TV at its absolute finest and you will not be sorry with your purchase.

Great show - I've always been really drawn to Mt. Everest stories - I like pushing myself physically and mentally and the thought of doing things not many others have done. However, after watching this, I know I'll never attempt climbing Mt. Everest. They have such great coverage of the summit and you can really see how dangerous the climbing and the height is (let alone the lack of oxygen and the toll it's taking on your body!). People make a great sacrifice - life changing in so many ways - to attempt the summit. The only complaint I had with the show is that when you're watching multiple episodes in one sitting, there's a lot of repeat footage. You think you're watching a new segment of the whole quest for the summit and realize you've already seen that segment. I don't think it would be so noticeable if you were watching one segment a week. I'd highly recommend it!
  • Well Produced (For the most part), Engaging Series chronicles the Trek to the top of the world

I enjoyed the series although I thought they did way to many flashbacks to previous episodes and even interviews from five minutes earlier. I also hated the voice saying "ever ever ever rest rest rest". It was annoying and degraded the show by giving it the appearance of a chessy horror flick. Overall though, this show gives you a great perscpective of just how gruelling a task it is to summit Everest. The filming shows beautiful scenery and you really will get to know the members of the expedition through the frequent interviews.

Really enjoyed this series. It gets particularly good towards the end and has some amazing footage near the summit.

Awesome shows! I remember the first time I saw one of the episodes on TV by chance; Whiles channel surfing I happen to come across the episode where the Indian climber is evacuated with AMS and almost dies and that pulled me in to this show. The realness of it is where it shines. This is no commercial dollied up TV show. People suffer and die in almost every episode in their attempt to conquer nature. There is also alot of honesty and "show it like it is" sensibilty in the filmography and interviews. Unlike other shows where there is a tremedous display of fake macho, know it all personalities, Everest: Beyond The Limit isn't about bragging what it is but showing the humility and frailty of its climbers. Russell is also the best "big boss" and Tim Medvez is the most charismatic, hard headed climber you will ever see on Everest. The conflict between these two and the other grim realities that happen on the mountain will keep you glued to your iPod Touch from Season1:Episode 1 to the last episode of Season 2. Just don't forget your iPod travel charger!

I love mountaineering shows, and this one is decent. Biggest complaint is with some of the unnecessary production. The computer voice "Ever...ever...rest...rest" is really annoying. You don't need cheesy horror effects to drive home the impeding danger of the mountain! I've seen the mountain with my own eyes, but you don't have to see it yourself to understand that it's treacherous up there. I know, nitpicking, but it's really distracting cos it happens over and over, and somehow cheapens the experience. Overall though, good show.

This remarkable documentry will not dissapoint . For those who want to see first hand what this mountain is about , this is your chance. This mini series however genuinly illustrates the dangers of Everest. Trully trully amazing work here. I highly recomend reading "the climb" by anitoli boukreev ( rip ) or perhaps into thin air by J.Krakauer , read them both if your at all interested !! From a marketing perspective , someone has found a way to make a TV series where players can actually die ......Think about that for a second . This is THAT kind of reality TV . Taking a quote from this show itself " I know its horrible to say ....but thats what it is "
  • One of the best shows ever.

Unbelievable that Discovery managed to get some of the video footage that you see in these episodes. I'm hoping for a season in HD, but I know the equipment probably is too heavy...
  • Great inside look at climbing

This is the most captivating show I've seen in a long time. It shows the good and bad parts of the high altitude climbing experience. It also shows how unprepared most people are for this kind of adventure. I think high altitude must be experienced to be understood but you do get a good feel for how unpredictable it is.
