Description

Battle-scarred and disillusioned by the war, Corporal Chris Merrimette is put in charge of a unit whose next mission is to resupply a remote outpost on the edge of Taliban-controlled territory. While driving through the hostile Helmand province, a Navy SEAL flags down their convoy and enlists the unit on an operation of international importance: they must help an Afghan woman famous for her defiance of the Taliban escape the country. Without tanks or air support, Merrimette and his team will need all the courage and firepower they can muster to fight their way across the war-torn country and shepherd the woman to safety. Intense and action-packed, Jarhead 2: Field of Fire Unrated stars Stephen Lang (Avatar), Esai Morales (Criminal Minds), Cole Hauser (Olympus Has Fallen), and Bokeem Woodbine (Riddick).

When the captain in the trailer told the Lt.Col that they were only supply Marines, that their expendable, you already know this is trash. Marine is a Marine

Nice entertainment with natural human reactions and normal interactions between young men and women. A lot more comfortable and natural than actors "acting". Contrary to previous observations, there were no "backwards" sights. The Meprolights and Eotechs were all mounted as expected. The SEAL character also had on the right basic get-up even though he did lack certain additional gear on top and round back. Josh Kelly played the Cpl and he is a Ranger with three tours in Afghanistan and one tour in Iraq. He certainly qualifies as a Military Advisor? This is a decent production with very natural and minimalistic pretentious acting, fun to watch.

If you like loads of inaccurate military terminology, backwards weapon sights, seals wearing bump helmets and ACUs, MARPAT with Velcro and zippers, civilian HMMWVs, and 5 tons, this movie is for you. The least they could have done was hire a military consultant to attempt to get some of it right. Waste of time and money.

First off ... the picture ... there's no helicopters or apache's in the whole film. The film looks like it was made for less than a $1000 and was shot mostly in a quarry. It's quite possibly the biggest load you have ever seen. special effects were amateur at best. Acting was poor and predictable. In fact the only person that will have liked this is the bank manager. A lot of people have bought this in the hope they may glimpse a war film in the same calibre as The Lone Survivor.... instead it's more like Teletubbies. It's dire !

I was concerned about the quality of this movie given the negative coverage about the re-use of the Jarhead name. I needn't have worried. It's far smarter than the vast majority of direct-to-video movies, gets the feel of war and remote location right, and most importantly, tells a pretty darn satisfying story. Action fans won't be disappointed in any way, and those wanting a decent yarn with some actual character development won't either.
