Never have I been so mesmerized with a singer, who not only can sing his own way, but captures your heart in every song, that you can't help but listen to over & over again. There is a sad, haunting, feeling that comes over you, yet a passion you can feel & see in his face that made you feel that he was living those words at that exact moment. like my heart was breaking when I heard about his passing 17yrs ago. Why didn't we know about Jeff Buckley those many years ago? He would have won many Grammy Awards without a doubt. I can just imagine what his popularity would be like today, if a tragedy
hadn't taken his life. I feel the aching heart that his Mother must have felt for her son, as I too lost my first-born son 5 yrs ago, due to an undiagnosed heart condition. He died in his sleep at age 28. There is no worse pain a parent will ever feel, then outliving their chiId. I would be so honoured if I could speak with Mary, Jeff's Mother. Not only as two Mother's who lost their sons way too early, but her life & love of music, which probably had a huge influence on Jeff's love of music, as was his father, Tim Buckley who was part of the music scene of the 60's. That's where Jeff got his incredible talent. I am very interested in the story of Jeff's life, going back to the time his name was Scottie Moorehead. I am going to look for every record, song, biography, video, movie or book, if they exist.saw a short video where some of the closest people in the music industry, spoke of Jeff as a person, & praising his tremendous talent.
Mary was talking about her son with such pride on her face. I feel heartbroken that we will never have the pleasure of hearing any new material from Jeff. I feel that he was an icon without ever trying. What he did was what came natural to him, & I just love it. Thank you Jeff!
