Description

22-year-old Aura (Dunham) returns home to her artist mother’s TriBeCa loft with the following: a useless film theory degree, 357 hits on her Youtube page, a boyfriend who’s left her to find himself at Burning Man, a dying hamster, and her tail between her legs. Luckily, her trainwreck childhood best friend never left home, the restaurant down the block is hiring, and ill-advised romantic possibilities lurk around every corner. Surrounded on all sides by what she could become, Aura just wants someone to tell her who she is.

I was waiting for the conflict but it never happened. This movie is a waste of your time, probably the most boring thing I have ever done in my life. I am a film director and I would personally use this as an example of what not to do. This could be used to torture people and has absolutely no purpose. I don’t understand how people gave good reviews because this is a movie I would never recommend to someone.

TO MAKE A SIMPLE POINT IS THAT THIS IS BEING COMPARED TO THE HBO SERIES "GIRLS". IF YOU HAPPEN TO HAVE A NEGATIVE VIEW ABOUT THE SHOW, I THEN SEE INDIVIDUALS WITH A NEGATIVE VIEW EVEN BEFORE THE MOVIE STARTS (THEN THEY START TO COMPARE IT FROM A-Z). WELL WRITTEN AND THE ACTIG IS NOT FORCED JUST GOOD AND ENTERTAINING. AS OTHER REVIEWS STATE THAT ITS A FLICK YOU MUST SEE A FEW TIMES AND EACH TIME I GET A DIFFERENT ASPECT/VIEW. SHE (LEANA DUNHAM) IS AND WILL BE BRING IN A INNOVATIVE/PERSPECTIVE FROM A FEMALE VIEW. THANKS LEAH IM SO READY TO SEE WHAT THE FUTURE BRINGS, NOT ONLY FROM YOUR FILMS, WRITING AND CREATIVE MIND. GRACIAS!

This makes the average show "Girls" look like a masterpiece. Do yourself a favor and skip this.

I didn't buy this movie but I did see it on tv and I liked it. IMO Lena Dunham is an up and coming actress of my time. She says whats on her minds which relates to me and I think many other girls out there. If you don't like her show Girls then you might not like this movie but that's up for you to decide.

if you ever leave the usa for an extended period of time or marry a foreigner this film become all the more true. a wonderful telling of the odd edict that has developed for social interactions in this region among this class i supposes. aside from this its a rare and original film an open honesty that is not likely to be witnessed again; its also just very good the joke about picnic at hanging rock had me rolling (not a movie on itunes). as a side note i very much enjoy her fathers work i was lucky to see his exhibition in berlin in the galley on the river behind DB and across from a forgotten glass sculpture by another artiest i admire thought his name escapes me. great film for an art lover social observer students in a prestigious high school or university. not sure if my father would relate as a conventional corn and beans farmer i suppose he is more exciting about growing his cross bred ancient corn genes back into a modern bred of corn to potentially increase disease resistance optimize nitrogen uptake increase drought tolerances to increase overall yields. maybe its a movie for a small audience but i loved it.
