A Lonely Place to Die

No special effects but keeps you on the edge of the seat. Thriller!! Definitely worth a watch.

Despite the good title and some good sequences and some unpredictable plot twists…..this whole movie is basically "let's outrun the crazed killers." This is where the Rotten Tomatoes thing really lets you down. This got a 77 -- because, was it a 77 for made-on-a-dime british thrillers? Um….ok. Sure. But the other movie I rented, The Ghost Writer, got an 82, and it was amazing. Beautifully filmed, incredibly acted and plotted, a marvel. Maybe one or two critics didn't like it, so it gets an 82. But it's being rated an 82 for being a Roman Polanski movie, which is a different scale than being a made-on-a-dime british thriller. (This is why you NEVER listen to RT when it gives a 100 for some animated kids movie that is GREAT for being a kids movie and about a 43 for being an adult movie. ANYWAY…… ARGH. it's ok. Not bad. But it's NOT A 77.

Not expecting much from this movie I was left actually thinking it was not bad. There are parts that are not really explainable, but a good movie for an hour and a half. Acting is pretty good and mellisa George plays her part to the fullest. not bad.

Terrible plot and Terrible acting - Waste of time and Waste of Money. All I can say is save your money and go watch paint dry……

In some scenes an english subtitle would be nice... heavy accent! Nice movie to relax... :-D

.............GARBAGE. Watching paint dry or watching your fingernails grow is better than watching this horrible mess of a movie. The story made no sense. The silly "violence" made no sense. The acting (if that's what you'd call it) was so bad I think pre-schoolers could've done a better job. Such a complete waste of my time and money.

I liked it, some parts were unrealistic and highly unlikely to occur in the real world, but that's entertainment, imagination, fantasy, and our hidden fears...

I was surprised that this movie broke some rules about the reluctant-good-guys-who-stumble-onto-a-crime type films. In that way, it avoids being predictable and keeps you guessing. Very tense, lots of action, but the characters and story are just as important as the thrills. For me, the British accents were sometimes difficult to understand, so I wish that English captions/subtitles had been available.

Totally disagree with the last reviewer before me. The acting was really reallyl good!!! This movie was SUPERBLY MADE!! For real, everything was expertly done and the acting was certainly realistic! This movie really made me tense up!! I mean, that kind of cold blooded killing...especially when its for just being in the wrong place at the wrong time....was truly terrifying. Wonderful casting choices as well!!! Ive watched this movie several times now and each time its gotten better to me because I can see what the director was trying to do (as well as the dialogue got easier to understand since Im not used to it). All in all, one of the best thrillers Ive seen in long time!!! Would HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Good Movie I should Have Bought this Movie instead of rented it
