    I have never read the book from which this movie was adapted, The Hellbound Heart, but I own the movie on DVD, and I’m thrilled that it’s part of my collection! I rented the movie as a teenager in the 90s, and there’s no doubt about it—this movie is HORRIFYING!!! Great acting and casting, stylish directing, and some of the ghastliest special effects, makeup effects, and gore effects that have ever been featured in a movie! This is a masterpiece!

    Opportunity is there, to make a perfect and true adaptation of Clive Barkers Hellbound Heart. Loved the short story, as did many others. Hellbound Heart is prophetic and original. A giant cut above the rest. Hell, the first Hellraiser wasn’t bad but could be so much better. It could be everything! If anything, the remake or whatever should be a true telling of the book. Trust me.

    I loved these movies as a kid but back then didnt know the name of them. Once I learned the name I was sooo excited and rushed to wach it. Unlike the cheesy horrors in this movies time period, this one was the absolute best!

    The storyline of this movie is one of the best & most interesting storylines of the horror genre, in my opinion. The movie was made in the 80s, so the effects are not even close to what they could do with it now, but the story more than makes up for it.

    Honestly, I did not think that I was going to like this movie, at all. I gave it a try on netflix, and I was amazed at just everything about the movie. It is like a piece of art that just pulls you in. Watch all of the Hellraisers, and you won't regret it. BUT, like every other modern horror flick, the last of the Hellraisers was terrible. WATCH THEM ALL.

    This movie has everything. Blood, skin, craziness and horror. It's a classic fun horror movie that is right up there with other classics such as Halloween, Nightmare and Friday the 13th. It's great to see this movie and Hellraiser 2 on here but it would be nice to see the rest of the series on iTunes as well. This is the best of the best when it comes to gore/horror.

    This is by far one of the greatest horror movies of all time. Its a genre in of itself. Incomparable to other films of horror. Its unique plot extending centuries into the past and into the future. The Four Legendary Demons, the Cenobites are epic in their composure. Their ability to not over react, but yet to infilict extreme torture. This is horror, but a greater horror.
