Everyone seems to be reviewing it as a horror movie when it's a psychological thriller, it's written to get to you and it does a great job at that. Dread has a slow start, but it really draws you in and by the end you've grown attached to the characters and their little quirks.

Jackson was my main reason for renting but I was loving this movie not just because of him... He WAS FANTASTIC!! ... & to my surprise, everything about this movie shinned! Smart, sexy, scary & dreadful... in a good way! You will NOT be disappointed! I can't stop thinking about this movie! I've got to buy this!!!

I read Clive Barker's short story "Dread" 20 years ago and still remember the opening paragraph. (recommend reading the first page prior to watching this, Books of Blood, vol. 2). This movie builds upon it and surpasses Barker's original. Existential, sexy, scary and smart. I am surprised it isn't more famous. I love Barker's short stories, hate his novels and movie scripts. (Thank God somebody else wrote this.) This is probably one of a handful of horror films that actually says something profound about the human condition while also buzzing the reptilian fight/flight response with aplomb.

This movie was very interesting. It wadn't like any other horror movie I have seen in awhile and I have seen alot of horror movies. The story line was different, it wasn't about some stupid ghost with a "taste for revenge" or a killer with no reason to kill. It was a psychological thriller that kept it's audience intrigued, and not alot of horror movies can do that now a days. All in the movie was great and I highly recommend it to true horrir movie lovers.

i love this movie. jackson rathbone is of course the reason i watched this movie in the first place ;) but i am a horror movie fanatic! I own over 200 horror films and this movie was creepy in a psychological way. it kept my attention until the credits. i would recommend this movie to any horror fan, there is gore, nudity, and substance.

Really good horror film culminating on a shocking ending. Besides that, Jackson Rathbone geets quite a bit of camera time. Difinitely a movie worth multiple viewings.

it is ok if you can't find another horror movie, but not that much different sequences of violence, just a half dozen or so, and no full on nudity and never that much time, at that. So if you can't find ANOTHER horror movie, then get this else, find another if you can...

The movie has been poorly written as has endless meaningless aspects to it. A cinema with several puppets stuck in the traps of a sadist with boring motives and insignificant causes to entertain viewers. Save your money.

awsome movie! the insanity is amazing! the only part I hated is how the insane dude lived and they killed Stephen! heartbreaking but an awsome movie overall. the nudity is disgusting that's why this isn't 5 stars. story line is amazing. acting is also amazing. 4 stars!

Takes a great idea and stretches it out for the sake of making a 90 minute movie. All most all of these After Dark movies are terrible. What a shame.
