Snow Falling On Cedars

I hated this film. I even tried skipping the boring parts and getting through the whole thing since I am on a budget and I paid for it, but I couldn’t even do that. Thanks as usual #EthanHawke

I only looked this up because I watch Horrible Bosses over and over and when Jamie Foxx character mentions this movie I crack up laughing. I plan to watch it soon.

This is movie is something special. It's sad to see critics knock such a great film for something like being "dull". I guess seeing realistic struggles the characters face isn't as entertaining as the other fantastical dilemmas another show might provide. But for me, the incredible insights in human character it provides in these moments are what separates it from a regular show.

There are several stories being told in Snow Falling On Cedars: 1. It follows the evolution of a relationship between two young lovers... one Japanese American... one White. 2. It provides a glimpse of a close knit multi-cultural community in the Pacific north-western part of the U.S., in which cultural traditions and racial etiquette shape the interactions between the groups living in it. 3. Despite the unspoken restrictions on interaction... connections and relationships occur between the families and individuals who live in the respective parts of the community. 4. The time period is just before the internment of Japanese-Americans, which occurs after attack on Pearl Harbor. 5. An apparent murder may tear apart the delicate racial balance that has existed within this community. This Is A Great Movie with Powerful Acting, And Excellent Cinematography! It Is One Of My Favorites!

this film was so beautiful, the emotion behind it really got into you. especially showing how you can love someone so much and knowing that you can never have them, but you would be willing to save the one that got chosen over you just to show that you still love that person. it shows a side of true love that most often forget.
