  • Fictional, but good

Having spent time on Rapa Nui (Easter Island) I learned that the Rapa Nui culture, customs, language and religion are virtually unknown. Only rough sketches can be determined from the archeological evidence. It has never been determined whether the cuture died because of conflict based on religion, social class inequities, ecological changes, or a combination of these. Thus, the movie's fabricated "culture" (which is the one generally offered to tourists visiting this mangificant island), is at best a guess. Nevertheless, the movie is entertaining and well worth viewing. It makes an interesting preview for anyone who might be visiting one of the most interesting places on earth.

The birdmen of Easter Island, risked their lives for eggs and had a competition when the birds came to the island on their migratory flight the men had to run , jump off the cliff swim to the another small island where the birds are and there eggs. To make it interesting they have to go back now, not break it and not get eaten by sharks but the 1st one back got to marry the most beautiful girl on the island.....hhmmmm
