Description

A bold and expanded reimagining of the 2015 horror cult classic LAST SHIFT. On a search to uncover the mysterious circumstances surrounding her father’s death, a newly appointed police officer, Jessica Loren (Jessica Sula) is assigned to the last shift in a decommissioned police station where a notoriously vicious cult saw their demise years prior. The lone officer at the station, she soon finds herself barraged by terrifying paranormal events, and in the process, is taken on a journey during which she learns the shocking truth behind her family’s entanglement with a demented cult leader. MALUM takes the premise of the 2015 festival hit LAST SHIFT and flips it on its head, thrusting viewers into an unrelenting, adrenaline-fueled, bloody cult nightmare.

Was super excited for this as I’m a huge fan of the original but this one was just godawful. The main actress is horrible and it just isn’t a good movie. There are probably more scares which is a plus but that’s where the pluses stop. Skip this and just watch the original👍

Storyline was slow. A fee jump scares but that’s about it.
  • Latest watch was decent

But what happened here? It seems with more budget we somehow went backwards. The first half was cringey to watch and when the spooky came is was just too late.
  • Last Shift far superior

Considering this was a remake/reimagining done by the same director as Last Shift, comparisons are inevitable. Last Shift was far superior in every way and had that gritty/gloomy horror movie finish, where this is visually saturated, not even getting to the particulars. I’m still confused why a remake was warranted for a movie that’s only ~8 years old. Not an absolute disaster (close to it), but not worth the rental price.

Movie had some potential, got some hype online but was absolutely terrible. Don’t waste your money wait until it’s on Netflix or somewhere free.
  • Last shift all the way!!!

This movie was a letdown in the sense that the third act felt as though they weren’t sure what to do which is so disappointing… Last shift is such an amazing film that this movie did not need to be redone… The first to acts was going down the same path as last shift which I enjoyed but then it just flopped in my opinion I really wish they took their time with the ending to sum up everything. Last shift will always remain an all-star!!

Absolutely not. I cannot believe I spent $10 on this. The “acting” was bad. The jump “scares” were not scary. And maybe worst of all the plot was insanely predictable every step of the way. Just don’t. Save your money. Wait to for it to go on Hulu, where bad “horror” movies go to die.
