  • Couldn't get made today, not as a comedy at least.

This is such a fun movie with a ludicrous premise: a judge is convinced by her uncle to let her little sister (Shirley Temple) go out with a "scoundrel" instead of putting him in jail because having to hang out with a teenager with a huge crush on him is worse punishment. So today that guy would go to jail if he DID start trailing after a 17 year old, especially a man in his 40's. So forget all that, remember the time it was made when things could still seem innocent. It's just a really fun movie and Loy and Grant are terrific together.

This is such a cute Cary Grant/Shirley Temple/Myrna Loy comedy. Very good old movie to watch.

This is really such a charming comedy, the kind Cary Grant excelled at. It features the "grown-up" (16?) Shirley Temple as a love-struck high school girl whose crush on Grant makes things awkward when he falls for her older sister/guardian, Myrna Loy. His attempts to shake the girl off gently are funny and his chemistry with Myrna is sweet, too. Not deep, but a lot of fun!
