Based on an inspiring true story of American basketball player, Jackie Ryan from Brooklyn, New York. Jackie works construction alongside his overbearing father and his wisecracking best friend Marty until he is spotted playing at the W 4th Street courts and is invited to try-out for the NJ Nets. With this opportunity, Jackie is forced to confront his inner demons and turn his life around.

Amazing movie. My friends and I all loved it. Such a fun story about Jackie Ryan. You’re rooting for him the whole time even when he keeps making a mess of things. The movie really did a great job of recreating the basketball scene in NYC. When jack back steps and checks his watch before shooting a 3 was simply classic !! Really a great production especially seeing the outtakes where you compare the real jack to the actor. Amazing job !

They definitely got the wrong name for this movie. The should have called it White Jack. Yet another movie with a white guy angry with the world because of first world problems, and he overcomes his made up demons and becomes the best white guy he could be! Enough of this crap already. Horrible movie.

Such an inspiring story, and you don’t have to be a basketball fan to appreciate it. Can’t believe this is my first time learning about Jackie. Deeply enjoyed this one!

You don’t have to be a basketball fan to enjoy this movie. It’s a Heartfelt, fun true story with important life lessons. Unlike other Hollywood sport films, it doesn’t have a cliche happy ending. If Jackie Ryan’s story taught me anything, it’s that one’s journey is more important than the outcome. On a side note, it was a pleasure to see David Arquette I’m a dramatic role.

Rarely do you see the range needed to have the authentic athleticism, comedic qualities, and dramatic talent to capture a role like this. Whether you enjoy sports biographies or quality drama, I thought Greg Finley was very persuasive, entertaining, and humorous. I really feel like I know who Jackie Ryan, the street baller and person was! Not many could have played it better. Good film. Highly recommend.

One of the best sports movies I have ever seen. A perfect balance of humor, drama, action. Some intense scenes that connected you to the characters. The lead actor looks just like Jackie Ryan! He played the part great and look forward to seeing him in more things. An overall entertaining piece of work that I will watch again. 5 stars.

Very inspirational story that was so well portrayed, performed and told. It had a feeling of one of my favorite movies of all time The Natural.
