  • An excellent, but incredibly depressing, documentary

First off- do not watch this thinking that it's all about the high points in Ronnie's career. Those are certainly touched on- but the purpose of this documentary is to focus on the current state of Ronnie Coleman- which is unfortunately quite depressing, as his career left his beaten and battletorn to the tune of 8+ spinal surgeries, multiple joint replacements, chronic weakness from spinal cord compression etc. I remember watching Ronnie videos in high school and seeing him in his prime. Seeing this state of Ronnie was incredibly depressing - as he just never seemed mortal to most bodybuilding fans. Even in his early 50s- he is more hobbled and disabled than say a guy in his 90s. Despite that- he has a better attitude than 100% of people in his situation. In a weird way- I was very motivated after this and it reminded me to stop complaining over all the silly stuff. In summary- this is about the price Ronnie paid for being a god among men. While his co-competitors are enjoying retirement (many injury free and fully functional), he is struggling to walk and living in constant pain (I believe in 1 scene he mentions taking 5-6 30mg oxycodones per day, a dose that would kill some people). It raises questions such as- would you sacrifice your later years to be a god among men? I wish him the best- it's quite heartbreaking to see him go through all of this

A special tribute which was well done. Recommend to anyone wanting to learn about bodybuilding’s version of Michael Jordan.

I was somewhat disappointed I thought that they would be showing something that we as fans did not see or know but everything that they showed in it has already been out there all they did was put the pieces together and made an half as movie. I am a true BB fan but this movie is not worth the money. Just like one viewer said you can go to u tube type in Ronnie Coleman and everything you see in the waste of time movie is there with the exception of his new wife and kids. Love Ronnie but this was garbage. Pumping Iron is still the best movie out by far.
