Description

Jon Hamm stars as Mason Skiles, a former U.S. diplomat, who gets sent to Beirut to negotiate a swap for the release of a terrorist leader, believed to be imprisoned by Israeli secret police, in exchange for a CIA agent who has been kidnapped. Confronted by ghosts from his past, Mason faces a formidable question: Who do you trust in a world where the truth emerges only when it's convenient – or profitable? From the writer of the Bourne trilogy, this taut action thriller also stars Rosamund Pike and Dean Norris and is being hailed by critics as "tense & ever-twisting" (Richard Roeper, Chicago Sun-Times).

Obviously not going to be one if your favorite movies but was definitely worthy watching. I’ve been disappointed quite a few times by movies with good reviews but not a lot publicity. This was not the case with this movie. Quality story line to go along with good acting. Definitely worth the rental fee for an evening at hone.

This looks NOTHING like beirut city ! Shame that they are showing the beautiful city Beirut in a way that looks NOTHING like it. Do NOT believe what you see in this movie, instead look up beirut city online and you would see how beautiful Beirut is.

I love John Hamm and think pretty highly of Tony Gilroy. But this movie is just utter crap. Weak and contrived and tedious.

I rented this when it was the iturns $0.99 rental of the week. It was interesting, kept my attention, and came across to me as a credible look at a time and place I don't often get to see in a movie. Solid performances, filmmaking, and production values. I ended up glad that I rented it and I would recommend it -- it's well worth the time to watch.

I guess the reviews are like Beirut - it all depends on who you ask. the 99cents rental offer was a must for me. I thought it was really good political thriller. Jon Hamm and Rosamund Pike make an incredible duo in this movie! Highly recommended!

This one feels close to the real thing. It’s not your typical 007 or MI. That’s kind of how things work in the real world.

An entertaining political thriller that will keep you engaged . . . until the rather unsatisfying ending.

I didn’t think I was gonna like this, but it turned out to be a good movie. It’s well done.

The political bile is strong in this one...if the trailer was an honest preview of the move.
