Description

The Heretic is a documentary film following the life and work of Rob Bell, one of the most polarizing figures in modern day Christianity. The film follows Rob with unprecedented access over several years as he challenges deeply held conservative ideals while grappling with some of the most important questions of our time: Can faith and science coexist, or do belief and progress stand in opposition? Is religion insufficient for explaining the complexity of our modern world, or does it give language to something even greater? And do spiritual traditions simply serve to further divide our world, or can they offer real help and hope for a better tomorrow?

Seriously Judeo Christian values built everything . This is absolutely nonsense . No wonder Jordan Peterson is popular if this is the competition

Perhaps the old parable was simply metaphor for an incident obsreved but not fully understood at the time (like a lot of other biblical text...). Jesus out on the Sea of Galalee cruising on a 10' longboard. Hey man. you never know....

Rob Bell is delivering an important message for everyone, Christian and non-Christian alike. He does an extraordinary job of relating the Bible and Jesus' teachings to the here and now. Rob Bell rescued Christianity for me after I'd long lost interest. I still don't consider myself Christian, but I get so much - so much - from Rob's sermons and recommend them to everyone.

Provocative and introspective. RB is a voice that needs to be heard. Would love a sequel!

I’ve followed Bell’s work for over a decade. His honest and God-centered pursuit of truth has never been squelched by other people’s’ opinions. His books have given millions of people permission to ask questions that we all have on our minds. This movie presents his work for the inspiration that it is while also offering a much needed response to the people out there who have been so cruel to him out of there own fear. If you are wondering if there are people out there who understand a faith which extends far outside of the Evangelical version (which is so often married to Conservative-American ego-centrism), this film will introduce you to Rob Bell and his wonderful work. So good!!

I enjoyed the film. I feel that if you have been following Rob Bell’s work, then there isn’t much new said that hasn’t been heard from/about him before, although it is presented differently. This is a great film for someone who is curious about Bell and his work as a way of introduction.

This film presents the human being behind all the opinions about him. So much to consider. Well done, Andrew.

If you have read/followed Rob Bell since the Mars Hill days, this is affirmation that he is a thought leader in the movement away from the messed up subculture of the modern evangelical church, and toward inclusion, love and the God that I DO believe in. Excellent.

Much better content available on you tube. Needs better editing. I’m a huge Rob Bell fan but this is disappointing
