Patrick Stewart is incredible. If you are familiar with the storyline and don’t need too much of an explanation of the finer points of Macbeth, then this is a great adaptation, but it does require an already existing understanding of the original play.
If you watch this cold, it might be really hard to follow as it takes the story away from its Anglo-Saxon setting and puts it in a fictional World War II-type era.
Having the Witches be portrayed as battlefield triage nurses is pure genius. A little goofy And over the top at times but an adaptation that should be applauded.
