Man Down

All these negative reviews truly shows how far we are as a society from actually caring about each other. First, most of the comments are from people who never purchased this film on iTunes, so let’s fix that Apple. Second, most people just follow the masses, like lost sheep. When Shai did some off the wall things in his personal life, Hollywood (and the disease that plagues it) did their best to ruin him and his career. That’s when the herd started to hate. Third, Shai is a human being. That means, just like everyone leaving hateful comments about him or this film, he’s made some mistakes and some poor judgements in life. That does NOT take away how great of a an actor he really is. I agree that not all military Veterans suffer from extreme PTSD, or even any at all. But this film was researched and those Veterans who DO suffer from PTSD allowed Shai into their personal lives so he could do an accurate portrayal of “their” experiences after returning home from war. Every human is different, in all areas of life. We should do a better job at caring and getting to know what makes us uncomfortable or nervous. I credit Shai for taking on this role knowing Mary and all her little sheep would reject it. And lastly, go watch Shai in The Peanut Butter Falcon and then tell yourself the guy isn’t a talented actor. If you still don’t see it, then I think it’s time to go get your wool trimmed from around your ears and eyes. Maybe then you can see for yourself and actually listen to more than just the echoes.

This is an excellent psychological thriller with a very powerful message. I would highly recommend this movie. It’s difficult to watch at times, but the message is worth the effort!

Shia LaBeouf is so other level perfect in this film that sneaks up on you with it's revelations. I've been a fan of Dito Montiel's since A Guide Tor Recognizing Your Saints and I am so utterly baffled by the negative reception of this film, and frankly, a few of his films that seem to attract complete idiocy and inept criticism. This was an amazing accomplishment and, again, Shia delivers a masterful performance. He's the new Sean Penn with the level he is playing at right now with his ability to bare his soul and emotions.

This movie left me in tears. Although it may not be reality it brings light to the issue of PTSD with an extreme story. Those who bash on this movie don’t understand the extent of the plot and it’s purpose.

I dont get it. Itunes will rank a crap movie 5 stars and its rotten tomatoes will be 90% or better but the movie is complete trash. But then you get a actual good movie like this and its ranked so low. This movie was AMAZING. forget what all the shia lebouf haters say, that man can act and he really shined in this movie. It got me to cry and thats hard to do. Love this movie. BRAVO to the director.

If you want to be depressed for an hour and a half than this is the movie for you. If not leave now. If your're feeling some type away, grab a bottle and hang on because your're in for one dark long ride. Apart from the somwhat unrealistic military training and Rambo room clearing, this movie wasn’t too bad. It's definetly a one timer kind of movie. #happineskiller #rockbottom #StayAwayFromMyWife

A compelling, moving story that has so much to say. How we treat our veterans. How we treat our families. The ugly side of love. The beautiful side of tragedy. Everything is here. I would encourage everyone giving it a one star review because they aren't fond of a particular actor or because of what they may have heard from an overly political audience WHO HAVEN'T ACTUALLY WATCHED IT to give it a chance. It's a beautiful story.

An incredible film! I can't say it enough. Shia LaBeouf's performance is heartbreaking and unforgettable, my favorite of his so far. Gary Oldman brings such depth to the role of Counselor Peyton and watching him and LaBeouf interact is something really special, a masterclass in acting. The writing is also spectacular. Adam G. Simon effectively throws you into this world and keeps you guessing until the end. Thank you for creating such an important piece of film.
