The addition of Sarah Shahi full time really brought up the show. Especially the relationship with Root and Shaw. This is one of the smartest, most interesting seasons of tv i’ve had the pleasure of watching.
  • Was a great show for most of 3 seasons, but

We lost interest as season three declined into a machine#1 versus machine #2, Decima story without the good plots and writing that was there during all the earlier episodes.

This show by the season finale proved to be one of the best shows on network television! Season 3 of Person of Interest made the shift from an weekly procedural to one of the best thrillers on television. The acting stepped up dramatically for Emerson, Caviezel, Shahi, Henson, and Acker. And what is shocking is how close this show hits to home in regards to the implications of our government spying on its people everyday. Bring on Season 4!

POI is centred on three characters, Reece, Harold and their interaction with The Machine - and it needs to stay that way. Sure, you can have several other characters that appear every episode, but they need to stay as secondary characters. Shaw does not work. Her introduction has unbalanced the feel of the show. Reece has been the hard nosed assassin that is trying to right wrongs. The appearance of Shaw has taken the edge off the Reece character. ……. and I am not even going to discuss the bimbo one liners that come from Shaw’s mouth - trying to add slapstick one liners into a dark action drama show simply doesn’t work. The Shaw character could easily remain as a back up help when required by Harold and Reece in the odd guest appearance Was anyone else confused by Reece’s sudden and completely out-of-nowhere confession of undying love for Joss one episode before they killed her off? For two seasons Reece has been hard nosed and unemotional - yet by his military background has had a complete sense of total loyalty (I have your back) to the other characters. The bolt-out-of-the-blue love for Joss just as the character is killed off did not fit. The rampage for revenge by both Reece and Shaw after Joss’ death absolutely fitted the two characters backgrounds. What needs to be fixed - remove Shaw to guest appearances only and stop the bimbo one-liners from her - focus back on Harold and his storyline of the road he went down to be where he is today - focus back on Reece and his storyline of his road to redemption that he is travelling, that is, from hard nose Government killer to protector of the helpless. - focus on The Machine and its storyline of ‘is it alive'
