Summer heats up with the fifth season premiere of Burn Notice starring Jeffrey Donovan as Michael Westen, a blacklisted spy who finds himself stranded in sun-soaked Miami. Has Michael finally found his way back into the CIA? Will he return to Miami? Can he and Miami's new counterintelligence expert, Jesse Porter (Coby Bell), co-exist? Also heating up South Beach are Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar), the beautiful ex-IRA operative and Michael’s ex-girlfriend; Sam (Bruce Campbell), our favorite washed-up military intelligence muscle; and Michael’s mother (Emmy® Award-winner Sharon Gless), who is one tough cookie herself.

Burn Notice is a great show. It's season premieres as the shows on the traditional networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, etc) have reached their season finales. However, I missed the majority of season 5 and wish they offered this show to rent so I can catch up before season 6 begins. iTunes should allow its users to rent tv series, rather than just buy them. 5 stars for Burn Notice, 2 stars for iTunes.

I was really excited for this season cause the last 4 were great. But this was a let down. Some explosion graphics were painfully bad, but the end of the season got a little interesting. Still a great show.

A touch of James Bond, a sprinkle of Our Man Flint, a dusting of Man From Uncle and Get Smart … all wrapped in the subtropical skin of South East Florida (not faked in L.A.) … it doesn't get much better than this for action/drama fans. You won't want to miss one second of the superb cast acting out compelling scripts in a colorful escapist atmosphere. A special shout out to Gabrielle Anwar who plays Fiona Glenanne as no other woman could. Smiling with girlish amusement or peering down the scope of a sniper rife, she is beautiful, whether in a tee shirt and jeans, swimwear or evening dress, she exudes more female than women with bulkier dimensions, definitely Bond Girl material. I have purchased all five seasons on iTunes and I anxiously await Season 6.
  • Burn Notice Season 5 and finale, "Fail Safe"

Burn Notice, once again, delivered in a very big way. First, the show and it's clever story lines keep you glued to your chair! The entire ensemble are so pleasurable to watch. Their interplay is so natural you can actually feel their connection to on another. Star Jeffery Donovan is amazing as "burnt" spy, Michael Westen. The season 5 cliffhanger Fail Safe was as good as any program I've seen on television, ever! I truly cannot wait for more episodes. If you have not tuned in before to this great series, I suggest you check it out. Do yourself a favor. You'll be in for a real treat! Lewis

I love burn notice, but his season was a real letdown. Not half so good as the others, it's a waste of time and money. If you want to watch this show try season 2, but I think you'll be as disappointed as I am by season 5.
  • Not as impressive as the last few seasons.

First of all, Burn Notice was one of my favorite shows up until they added Jesse. Not that I have anything against Jessie, in fact, he is my favorite character. But right around the time they added him, the show went downhill. Now the show is less geared toward "helping out random people", and more serial driven. I really miss the days of Micheal Weston using a cell phone and a motion sensor to set up a homemade intruder alarm. I feel that the show has a bit too much product placement (remember subaru and lexus). I feel this show has gotten old, and I havent watched it in a long time.
