Silly and opinionated, Top Gear's unique approach to motoring entertainment is powered by big ideas that never quite work properly or, at the very least, catch fire a bit before they do. Now Jeremy Clarkson, James May, Richard Hammond - oh, and barely-tame racing driver The Stig - return with and another batch of tire-smoking, lap-record-breaking, ambitious-but-rubbish car stuff. The eighth series sees the boys tackle one of their all-time classic challenges as they each attempt to build a truly amphibious car that works as well on water as it does on land, with results that have to be seen to be believed. There is an epic car football contest as the Toyota Aygos take on the VW Foxes, Jeremy races the Stig in a Caterham 7 built with his very own hands, and Richard faces a contest against a jet-powered canoe. Ewan McGregor and Gordon Ramsay are among the stars hoping to set a fastest lap in the reasonably priced car.
