Description

Each week on Deadliest Warrior, a new episode pits two of the most feared warriors civilization has ever known against each other. Along with the use of 21st-century science and the latest in CGI technology, each episode enlists warrior-specific world-class fighters and experts to provide insight into what makes these combatants tick, analyzing every facet of their unique skills of destruction, culminating in a head-to-head final fight between two legends of the battlefield that will produce the deadliest warrior. Other highly-anticipated showdowns this season include: Pirate vs. Knight, Taliban vs. IRA, Yakuza vs. Mafia, Viking vs. Samurai, Green Beret vs. Spetznaz, Maori vs. Shaolin Monks, William Wallace vs. Shaka Zulu, and Ninja vs. Spartan.

This show is awesome through and through. I love it when naysayers complain about certain match ups like the Spartan vs ninja or the green beret vs spetsnaz. "The ninja would not attack the Spartan like that." "This show forgot that green berets wear body armor" bla bla bla. 1. This show compares two warriors in a FAIR, standup fight. 2: The fight between the green berets and the spetznaz is a fair fight anyways, with or without body armor because the spetznaz have the AK-74. Like the 47, it can shoot through body armor as if it isn't even there.

Great show. For all of you who are requesting season package, they wait until the end of the season. The only other reasonable complaint was someone below me requesting group combat. They feature group skirmishes later on in the show.

Just a bunch of nerds drooling over weapons they could never dream of handling in the real world. Results are obviously biased by their opinions of who has the "coolest" weapons instead of who has been proven by history to know how to use them.

Years before the show was ever created, there was a card game called "Anachronism". In the card game, you could pit the greatest warriors in history against each other, using either their native gear and weapons or other cultures. So, you could have Blackbeard weilding a roman sword, worshipping a Norse god, wearing a Greek helmet and an African Shield against Julius Ceaser, fighting with a katana, riding a Mongol stead, wielding a flintlock pistol and worshipping the Great White Spirit. I am of the opinion that one of them saw the card game and said, "Hey, that would make a great show." Which it does. The show is not meant to be a 100% true to history, the very nature of the show is clear on that point.
