The Simpsons go green! The Simpsons get their Irish up in this six-episode collection of Celtic-themed comedy. The classic episode "Whacking Day" finds snakes and Irish on the same side of the cudgels of the people of Springfield, until Lisa successfully pleads for tolerance and understanding. In “Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment,” the annual St. Patrick's day riot leads to prohibition, which leads to Homer becoming the city's biggest bootlegger. In “Trash of the Titans,” iconic Irish band U2 sings "In the Name of Love" while at the same time their security forces beat the living daylights out of Homer Simpson. In "Pygmoelian," based on Shaw's play of the same name, plastic surgery gives Moe the bartender a new life as a handsome soap opera star, then a tragic mishap takes it all away. In "The Father, the Son and the Holy Guest Star," a charming Catholic priest (Liam Neeson) tries to convert Homer and Marge to the Roman faith, leading a horrified Marge to wonder just how wild and wooly Catholic heaven might be. And in “Sex, Pies and Idiot Scrapes,” Springfield bans booze during St. Patrick's Day, which only makes the Northern and Southern Irish realize just how much they don't get along. So set down your James Joyce, pop open a Guinness, and spend a while enjoying the Emerald Isle with The Simpsons!
