Description

They are The Unit, a covert Special Forces team operating outside the usual military chain of command, risking their lives on undercover missions at home and abroad. Their identities are highly classified, a secret that’s also fiercely guarded by their wives. But despite the men’s determination to protect their families from the dangers of the job, they’ve learned that the enemy they have defeated in the field is also capable of bringing the fight right back to their own front door.

OK this is coming from a person who have many servicemen in their family, but this has got to be the weakest portrayal of US Armed Forces ever. The plot in each episode limps by, the dialogue seems like it was crafted by a second grader, and the "action sequences" are an epic fail. All in all it's a boring as all hell series. Do you really want to vegetate for almost an hour watching a man who can't even sell car insurance? ( >_<)

This show was so much fun to watch. The action scenes seemed like they were from a movie instead of a show on television. If you watch the first couple of episodes you'll be hooked.

This is a great series in terms of content as well as some of the actors. It's one of those series that makes you wish many of the missions they accomplish were true (and that someone would just tell these guys where Al-Qaeda's leadership were so they could just get it done). There's a great juxtaposition of the work the soldiers do that they have to keep from their families and others. The only problem I have (and I understand it might just be me) is that David Mamet EP'd this and forced the directors and actors to use his asinine unnatural method of speaking the lines. I'm not a fan of extreme method acting but to me, what Mamet does is the exact opposite...and also extreme. Most people might not notice or care but I do and it kills me that this could be even more outstanding if the dialog didn't sound like it was read directly off the script rather than coming from the brains of the actors. It makes things so stilted and stiff in places. If you're considering this, I suggest renting the first season on netflix or from blockbuster and seeing if you care about what I said...if not, then enjoy because everything else in the series is great.
