This is what today's Home Run Derby should still be like, the games here are simple and fun, the interaction between the host and players is fun to listen too, and it lets the players show off a side of them we don't see too often. Anyone that's a baseball fan should watch this hidden gem, it's more than worth the price of admission.

This is a great way to get to know the players of yesterday.... I enjoyed the interviews as much as watching Hank, Mickey, Ernie and Willie swing the bat.
  • I can't gift this because it's 'not available in the US?'

This was shot @ Wrigley Field 2, Old home of the Los Angles Angles when they were in the PCL, Not only is the classic stadium fun to watch, but the players dont just hit homeruns on camera, but one comments as the other bats, its candid and relaxed not a staged interview. You see a side of players most never do. If you a fan of any of these players you must watch alleast one episode.

Man I loved these shows growing up... I actually added them to my netflix queue after seeing them there, but iTunes wins by having available for immediate download. The competition is actually captivating and some of the unintended comedy during the interview portions make this a must have.

As the title suggests, these shows were made at a time in our history, American history, when a dollar brought more than a stick of gum. Nothing fancy, just see the ball, hit the ball, hard! A shame some can't see that...
