  • Jack Johnson - techhnically flawed

The digitization of this in many places was incompetently done. As seen by occasional horizontal lines in areas of motion, the person doing the conversion had the line order reversed. They had no knowledge in what they were doing. Very annoying and truly amateurish.

Another great piece of work by Ken Burns, but I have begun to expected it from him.

Every young woman in America should see this program to understand how far we've come, the struggles we've faced and to understand the lives of women both yesterday and today. It makes my heart soar every time I watch it.

I really wanted to watch these shows but there is no way I am paying this much.

What a wonderful presentation. It still makes me cry every time I see it. I came across it one night while flipping channels and could not stop watching. "Not for Ourselves Alone" is a history that was almost forgotten were it not for Ken Burns. A must see for everyone, but especially for girls.
  • Horatio's Drive: Don't Worry. It's Fantastic!

I had some reservations before I purchased the episode on Horatio's Drive across America. I mean, I'd never heard of the guy and besides, what was so fascinating about a drive across America? I was having some Ken Burns withdrawal symptoms so I decided to go ahead and make the purchase and I am glad that I did. Of course, it was well put together. I mean, come on, this is Ken Burns we're talking about here. But I also found that I was immediately drawn into the program and found myself cheering Horatio on. I won't say much more than that for fear of spoiling the episode but trust me, you'll enjoy it.

There are MANY different episodes of Ken Burns' American Lives as well as PBS' American Experience. Where are the rest? I've been patiently waiting for the entire catalog to be posted on iTunes but after a year I'm beginning to wonder if this is all there is. Please post the other FIVE TRILLION Ken Burns films out there.

This is certainly the best documentary I have ever seen. For three and a half hours I was entranced, watching the lifetime of Samuel Clemens go before my eyes. So well executed, this is nearly a work of art more so than anything else.
