After its critically acclaimed freshman season, the Emmy® Award-winning series The West Wing returned for a behind-the-scenes look at another year in the life of the eclectic group of frenzied staffers in the Oval Office. President Josiah Bartlet (Emmy® Award winner Martin Sheen) has been shot, along with his deputy chief of staff, Josh Lyman (Emmy® Award winner Bradley Whitford), leading to many personal and professional crises for them and for Bartlet's administration. This season's premiere, Christmas episode and season finale all won individual Emmy® Awards.

Reviews

  • A classic series priced badly...

While the quality of the series is terrific, the jump in price is not. Going from $20 back to $40 makes little sense outside of plain greed. First it took ages to get the HD updates and now a price hike? Makes one simply stick with streaming versions until either a sale or those pricing the series realize that less not more will be sold this way.

Why is this available only to purchase by episode whereas the other seasons can be purchased as a whole unit?

Aaron Sorkin is the greatest writer in Hollywood. You might disagree, but you'll never see a better example of writing than you do in the episode "Two Cathedrals" heralded as quite possibly the greatest hour of television ever. Sorkin's superb writing, and the great cast including Whitford, Sheen, Janney, Schiff and Spencer make this one of the greatest casts to have ever been brought together on the small screen. Best show ever!
