FDR, a three-part miniseries, redefines our 32nd president's mythic place in American history by showing the viewer a new side of this supposedly well-known leader. Our Franklin isn't just a president speaking at the podium, but a young man desperate to prove he's got something to offer the world. He's not a black-and white photograph but a cocky Assistant Secretary of the Navy whose reckless behavior threatens his family and his future. Most importantly, he's not a pillar of strength, but a man stricken with polio, who transforms himself by learning how to listen to others.
