Unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Rauch), the daughter of the late Harry Stone, follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding.

  • I love this show!

I read the negative reviews and had to check out this reboot myself. I didn't find the laugh track off at all. Clearly people complaining about it never grew up in the 70's and 80s as I did. Now granted if she wasn't JUdge Harry Stones daughter and John Larrquette wasn't in it? This would be pure fail The bailiff lady is awesome too - she doesn't stick to the cookie cutter original bailiff design - she makes the character hers. The clerk is good, but I haven't really connected with his character yet. The prosecuter actress comes off too city for me, but I suppose nowadays a state or city lawyer would be more city than the 80s original series. The original series made you love all the characters and I hope this new group allows me the same.
  • The rebirth of the sitcom

The 80’s and 90’s were some of the best years for sitcoms, just so much fun. Fast forward to 2023 and the major networks are more interested in being politically correct and “woke” than actually producing a product people want. This might be a return to funny light sitcoms, the first two episodes are building a foundation for a great sitcom and touch its watchers with a good humored approach to reviving an 80’s classic. John Laroquette is a legend and he really shines in the first 2 episodes. It’s like Dan Fielding never left, his portrayal picks up flawlessly his old Dan Fielding character. The rest of the cast does a fine job and should help this effort last for many years.
