Reviews

  • Reminiscent of BSG

Don’t build synths. It will end badly. Don’t build cylons. It will end badly. I couldn’t not think of the similarity of Battlestar Galactica’s cylons and this season’s synth theme. Not sure if anyone else thought this, BUT I still enjoyed this season and what it offered.
  • Unwatchable.

The first review I tried to write of this was so negative and so strongly worded that iTunes actually refused to post it, and I didn’t even use any cuss words. Let’s just say that I didn’t even manage to get through the entire season because I hated it so much. I hope these statements are enough of a review, as I don’t think I could write an accurate review that iTunes would find more acceptable than my first one.

Love this series, it’s not your old and stale Star Trek. This plays with things in the past brought in to future. Riveting and imaginative. Love this show and well as Star Trek discovery, and Star Trek strange. The best tv viewing around.

Picard is portrayed as a weak old washed up man. Women are acting like men and men are acting like women in this series. Men are shown as weak subordinates and all women are in positions of power. It’s sad actually what Hollywood has done to brain wash the next generation. The whole series is an act of defiance to gender roles. It’s creepy and complete cringe. It’s seems too forced and unnatural and I can see why people have mixed reviews. So sad to see this series destroying any semblance of what comes natural to human nature. If you dare pay for this then you will understand my comments better. I’m all for gender equality but this is blatantly obvious what the agenda is conveying. So sad. I think the Hollywood studios want to go broke for some reason and will blame it on the economy instead of them selves. Time will tell.

Imagine having great memories of something from your childhood… then imagine some greedy suits and hack writers decided to destroy all that. That’s Picard. They turned Picard into a senile old man, killed off multiple fan favorite characters, ruined several other characters, and introduced several annoying new characters. Plus the story was terrible… unwatchable, really. Now they’re going to ruin Q in Season 2. Hard pass.

Really loved it!! One thing about all of the Star Trek….. they’re never the same like Star Wars!

This was a lot of fun and had an interesting storyline. It was good SF! It made the tie-ins to the previous series and then brought them forward with new threads. Also do think it kept in line to STO and TNG with various moral conundrums getting worked through. Plenty of action and great special effects also.

A very enjoyable fantasy on the continuation of the Star Trek universe. We have to keep in mind and not take too seriously the aspect that this is a fantasy and is not totally based on the facts of reality. I really liked the cast and the different directions the characters were taken. To me and in my opinion, I thoroughly enjoyed Star Trek Picard and I am looking forward to the next season of the show. I would rate this first season as excellent.
  • A nice continuation

No, this is not TNG but I thought it was an excellent show that added depth to Picard’s character. There was perhaps too many sops and tie-ins to older stories and characters and I’m not sure I liked Picard’s “twist” at the end. The show is more similar to “Logan” in tone than to a new TNG episode, especially in the earlier episodes, which I think is how Patrick Stewart wanted it.
  • Bad fan fiction.

Star Trek hardcores will buy this junk because there's a collecting aspect to being a fan but this series is trash. The story makes no sense, the returning characters behave nothing like they were originally written even granting that they've aged and changed, and the acting is terrible. Kurtzman and co were more concerned with whatever their social agenda was more than they were with being loyal to the brand. More than that they were concerned with the casg grab, which is why they used the Star Trek name on this fan fiction garbage and didn't do the brave thing and try to make something original. Again, if you're a Trek fanatic you will buy and you know why but this series is not worth 25 bucks or even fifteen bucks. OK, I might buy it when it drops to five bucks.
