Reviews

  • Slow but relatable

The show is slow moving - much like their Kentucky region - but there is something very relatable about the sisters. Obviously (to me) the root of the issue is a lot of early life neglect and that’s never been addressed. Boy do I relate to that and appreciate how much time can be lost to that type of upbringing. They need to change habits, but it really needs to happen in parallel with some great therapy. Get the sense Tammy could benefit from art therapy in particular.

These sister’s are strong and brave. I admire their candor. It’s so dismissive, read another review, to over simplify what their lives have been like and the challenges they’ve faced. The only thing distasteful and staggeringly sad is their emotionally abusive mother. She’s NOT funny. She’s cruel and damaged. She delights at her cutting remarks. Kick her off! Or better yet make them go to family therapy and unearth the obvious.

My family routinely watches “My 600-lb Life” episodes, so our curiosity made us check out this show. These sisters are hilarious, and also have high-tension emotional moments where they fight with each other. We can’t wait for the next episode each week! If you like similar shows, you should check out this one too.

Sorry, TLC, just can’t watch this one. These poor gals are just too ridiculous and mentally incapacitated to endure.
