Description

Starting over isn’t easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can’t keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he’ll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life.

There is a combination of good scripting and acting in The Rookie. Sarcasm with a dash of real-life grit mix well.

Nathon Fillon is a brilliant actor who really makes this series worth watching. But all the other actors are really good as well. They are superbly casted. The writing is really good too! Just the right combination of action, drama and humor. Unfortunately there are so many series nowadays that are not very good. So I am even more thrilled to finally have such a great series to watch! Hope this series will run for a very long time. Am a big fan!!!

Why is this necessary? I paid for the whole season and I will not watch another episode. Sin is bad enough without forcing us to accept it as normal and lovely.

Nathan Fillion (“John Nolan”) appears to have another “great,” series (eg, Castle) w/ a long life ahead of himself/itself. And just like in “Castle,” Nathan has an amazing set of cast-members & writers surrounding him. I fully expect “The Rookie” has MANY entertaining seasons ahead of itself. If you haven’t yet checked the series out, you definitely should. 👍👍
  • Jumped the shark

Jumped the shark with the start of the 4th episode. Pushing the LGBT agenda and politically correct nonsense. And no cop would do this, listen to sob story and allow two arrested criminals to propose to each other. Just a way for the show to check the gay rights box. Sad. Will not be watching this show anymore. Wake up TV land, mainstream America does not want this crap pushed on us in every show.
  • Good show, but flawed.

The "rookies need to break up" storyline is so ridiculous and forced it puts a hard squeeze on an otherwise decent series. Their relationship is half the fun of the show. Fix that and I can live with the other cliches and issues with the story.
