Excellent peek into a world previously given no thought on its workings

SPOILERS HERE: Starting with season 5, the writing got extremely lazy and never recovered. Shows were filled with unnecessarily long scenes, montages and s-l-o-w talking to fill the alotted time rather than enrich the story. The Series Finale could have been great. But it had commercials about ever 5 minutes (for about 5 minutes) and just amounted to a coup de grace to put the series out of "my" misery. Philip and Elizebeth were perpetrators of horrendous, often ill-conceived murders. letting them go was preposterous. And last, what about Martha, Philip's American fake wife, now living in Russia? Are we just supposed to not care about her? I will be cautious about every letting myself get devoted to a TV series again.
  • Excellent & Worthy of Spinoffs

The second half of this season, in particular, is the best dramatic television I have ever seen. Love the dynamic between the leads and Holly Taylor has evolved into an excellent actress.

Such a gem. Grimy, gritty, smart, real, nostalgic, intense, campy and compelling. If you love a good spy drama that doesn’t dumb itself down for ‘the average viewer’ you’ll love this show. I’m astounded that more people don’t watch it. Season six has me biting my nails and having several hundred heart attacks. Brilliant.

Some of the episodes have scenes that are so incredibly dark that you miss what is even happening.

It's the final season, but it's never too late to discover The Americans. A timely, hip portrait of marriage and identity, carried by its leads. Do-svidaniya to a great show.
  • Kyokushin Osu Seal of Approval

"The Americans, Season 6," gets the Kyokushin Osu seal of approval. In this final 6th season to the series which we all have been waiting for, the character development continues as one might expect. Mother-daughter (Elizabeth/Paige) and father-son (Phillip/Henry) relationships are highlighted at the outset, along with changes in the parental relationship. And the relationship to motherland? Has Phillip forgotten his past? Has Elizabeth let herself be pulled too deeply into the web of deception? This series is about family in the same way that The Godfather was about family. A modern classic that showcases the sublime talent of Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys. Bravo.
