The X-Files strategy of endless doubt and paranoia worked back in the day, but eventually a series that never provides resolution or advances the plot line becomes aggravating. The monologue by the talk show host beginning around 33:50 is everything that's wrong with the X Files - like 20 different conspiracy theories in 1 minute. They could have done so much better of a reboot, finally starting to resolve questions and moving toward a conclusion. I don't understand why they're so afraid of a conclusion, especially since they're ambivalent about continuing the series much longer anyway. Also, from the last episode: Agent Einstein, really?

I used to really love The X Files from the years gone by, but now it has become "Politrical" I can't believe it. Do all of the real X Files lovers a favor and don't ever show this garbage again.
  • I WANTED to believe...but I'm not so sure

I'm not too sure how to review my beloved X-Files revival. I'm not even sure what star rating I should bestow onto it. I know with the passage of time, things evolve. Time stands by for the younger versions of ourselves that fell in love with the show in the 90's. Many of us yearned for the moment to see Mulder, Scully, CGB and Skin man one last time after hearing the grand news of the revival. Now, I'm really struggling to put a coherent thought into this review, but maybe it was best to keep this once classic show...in another TRUTH...one that was left to our own imaginations. One that was best left to our creation. Perhaps my take of this mini-series will change, as so many things do in the course of Life. I still WANT to believe in the show that I grew up with...
  • GLAD IT’S BACK! BUT, SHOWS FEEL DIFFERENT

The fact that this show airing again is 5/5 stars. But comparing the feel of the show vs the old one, this feels less filmic/dream like, more like watching live acting. I attribute this to current show using “digital camera” vs old show using “film” to record. The acting from the main actors are great as before. The stories are a bit rusty and less fluid than before, but I’m sure it will get better with more episodes. Overall, I like it. Worth the price. Going to buy the rest of the episodes.
