  • AMAZING Miniseries! Christina Ricci is WICKED!

I loved the 2014 Lifetime film, "Lizzie Borden Took An Ax" starring Christina Ricci and Clea DuVall. It was a fun, stylish movie with great acting that profiled the murders of Andrew and Abby Borden that occured in 1893. But THIS follow-up miniseries, however, was AMAZING! It was even more stylish than the movie, the acting was brilliant, the plotline of Lizzie Borden taking on crime lords, street detectives, and other foes after her acquittal, was phenomenal. Christina Ricci boosts her role as Lizzie Borden even better - and deadlier - as she kills 1-2 people per episode. The soundtrack is great as well; with awesome rock/pop/blues songs featured in every episode. As a Horror fan, it's very gruesome as well. Ricci plays such a psychopathic, manipulative, cunning, deadly and reimagined murderess as her sister, Emma, tries to make sense of it while proving Lizzie's innocence. If you're a Christina Ricci fan or fascinated with the Lizzie Borden crime case, you will NOT be disappointed with this awesome crime/drama/horror miniseries! My only complaint is they should've made a Season 2! I was sad to see it end! FIVE stars!
  • A visual & musical masterpiece

I was mesmerized from the very first episode. A historical period piece artfully produced for the 2010's... The story is captivating (I find myself disturbingly rooting for Lizzie's success), the filming is entrancing (each shot is so beautifully framed, it reminds me of old Hitchcock), and the soundtrack... well, it's what really sets it apart from anything before. I'm only on episode 4 & I'm already sad the series is so (sweetly?) short. Tonight I realized that episodes 3 & 4, the ones I was watching, were directed by none other than Russel Mulcahy. No wonder I love it.
