Description

They're ferocious, they're furry, they're ZOMBEAVERS, the stars of this 2015 horror-comedy, directed by Jordan Rubin. When a trio of sexy college girls (Cortney Palm, Rachel Melvin, Lexi Atkins) arrive at a remote cabin for a weekend getaway, their vacation is quickly jeopardized by a hungry bear, a menacing hunter (Rex Linn), and the girls' own party-crashing boyfriends (Hutch Dano, Jake Weary, Peter Gilroy). However, these preliminary disturbances are nothing compared to what lurks in the lake by the cabin: The result of a local chemical spill, a horde of bloodthirsty, zombified beavers closes in on the unsuspecting co-eds. It isn't long before the kids are engaged in a life and death struggle with the ferocious ZOMBEAVERS, but it turns out that the creatures themselves are only the beginning of their nightmare. Featuring cameos by Bill Burr and John Mayer, Zombeavers is infectiously funny and terrifying. Zombeavers. They'll dam you to hell!

I like horror movies that have twisted humor such as Sean of the Dead and Army of Darkness. This is one of those movies. So if you like horror movies with a touch of humor, horror movies not to be taken seriously, this is a movie you will probably like.

It is what the name says it is. If you didn't at least smile when you read the title, don't watch it. But if you did, or even said to yourself "WT$" . . . watch it. It's a fun ride. Just hit play and get lost in the film's world for awhile.

I am unbelievably pleased with this movie. The plot felt dicey, the dialog and the acting was very entertaining. I highly recommend.
  • A bit too much

A bit too over-the-top without the over-the-top being sufficiently funny. Folks should be aware there’s quite a bit of sex and nudity. Some good low-budget camp; some spots where both the camp and the humor get lost along with the plot and the acting. Best viewed when very drunk.
  • BEYOND TERRIBLE

Rotten Tomatoes can “go heat,” because for these tools to actually give this crap a 66% shows you that they are definitely not professional critics, and are just dopes with an opinion like the next person. Anyone with a brain should have known this movie was going to stink by the title alone. I personally wanted to see how bad it really was (watched it on Netflix, thank god I spent no money) and of course, it met my expectations. Realism is thrown out the window in this “poopy" flick. The practical effects are absolutely atrocious (the beavers clearly look like mechanized toys) and if you thought this movie couldn’t get any more “handicapped", wait till you see people actually turn into zombie beaver hybrids once they get bitten (they even have tails too). Don’t waist your time or your money with this piece of "poop"

Certainly not the worst movie I've seen but this movie pales in comparison to other horror comedies like Zombieland and Shaun of the Dead. One reviewer remarked on the great non-CGI effects and above average acting. I recommend the original TheThing movie for special effects and just about any other movie for better acting.
