Determined to make it as an actress in Hollywood, Sarah Walker spends her days working a dead-end job, enduring petty friendships and going on countless casting calls in hopes of catching her big break. After a series of strange auditions, Sarah lands the leading role in a new film from a mysterious production company. But with this opportunity comes bizarre ramifications that will transform her both mentally and physically into something beautiful... and altogether terrifying. From the producer of Cheap Thrills and Jodorowsky’s Dune, Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch’s STARRY EYES is an occult tale of ambition, possession, and the true cost of fame.

...better than Manos: The Hands of Fate Honestly, how does Rotten Tomatoes grade these things? For a self-funded film project it's OK, but that doesn't mean it's OK enough to waste 98 minutes of your life on.

This flick is about a masochistic young woman willing to do anything to become a movie star. STARRY combines the worst elements of DAY OF THE LOCUST (1975) and SUNSET BOULEVARD (1950) (both of those films are also about stardom). The last 40 minutes of STARRY are devoted to self-destruction and dumb CGI.

This film horrified me. It was a downward spiral from the minute it started. The acting was superb from everyone, even the bit players. Low budget for sure, but this is how low budget can deliver, with a good story. If this one doesn’t shake you to your core, you’re not human. I loved this movie for it’s absolute dedication to craft and it’s great attention to detail. Absolutely brilliant. I look forward to more from this director.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who thought the movie was B-O-R-I-N-G! I don't even know how it's considered a horror movie. Yea, yea, there are some killings but I've seen scarier movies that are considered a comedy movie! 😂 Sorry, but I believe this movie was a flop. 😕
  • Starry eyes is daring and metaphorical.

The movie is a story of so many people out there working their mundane jobs and mundane lives in the hope to one day reach stardom. It's a story of how far would you go to reach it? Would you give up your very life for it? It's a supernatural tale that is daring and pushes the limits but it is also very metaphorical in the sense of what people will go through and do to reach their dreams, even if hurting others and themselves in the process and in the end aren't even close to the same person they were to begin with and not in a good way. The supernatural part of this story is a horror movie but what people will do for power and fame and to get to the top, the ugliness of it, is very real. This movie is very good at portraying the horror aspect of the film while also the metaphorical side as well.

Any reviewer who says "its too sick for me" is not a true horror fan! I mean come on...too sick?? Anyways, the movie is good and totally worth watching. It is creepy, it is bloody and that to me is true horror. The lead in this movie is very talented and one to watch. The ending was a tad over-kill and and overly dramatic, but all in all it works! Its a winner.

Started out okay, but then lazy writing turned an interesting premise into a cliche-filled, predictable flick.
  • Very worthwhile

I'm not gonna bother to write a whole review or anything, but you can trust me, it's very good.
