Idk who is writing these reviews, but this movie is over an hour too long, terrible boring, and seems unedited! The trailer looks great, but then add on another 2 hrs of nonsense! Snooze.....Skip it

I’ve been thinking about this flick for two days straight since I saw it and decided I had to come back and review it. If you like unique horror films in the vein of May or Ginger Snaps then this is the film for you. I enjoy the fact that much of the plot is hidden in the synopsis/trailer. It allowed me to continuously be in shock over the events that were taking place. It’s not often you see a movie that can make your jaw drop over and over without being overly gory. It’s a great story with a narrative that feels like you’re reading a thrilling novel that you don’t want to put down. Highly recommended.

I have seen it written as a "worthy successor to 'Rosemary's Baby.'" I don't think that's necessarily true - I'd say it's a worthy successor to such psychologically disturbing films as "Bug," or "Inside" (sans the extreme gore - but a strange statement about parenting and children, nonetheless). This film stays with you - each character is deeply flawed, morally corrupt, and in many cases insane. The filmmakers should be commended for creating something very unique - surprising - entertaining - and completely upsetting - just the way good film should be. The performances are remarkable and haunting. Each actor seemed completely committed to and absorbed by their character. Loved it.

Hopefully those of you who rent this movie are not like "Movie Buff1234567890987654321" and probably have some capacity to appreciate exotic and terrifyingly aberrant behavior in characters on the silver screen. The depths that some of the characters' delusions sink to is jaw-dropping and there's at least 3 characters with clearly defined personality disorders. The word "insidious" doesn't even properly describe half of what happens in this movie because this movie illustrates, with wonderful subtlety, just how magnetic "psychosis" can be.

I did not know much about this movie going in, purposefully so. It was billed as a disturbing thriller, not a horror movie, so I expected more suspense than outright gore or scares. What I got what so much more insane than I could have possibly anticipated. The movie starts out with a woman whom suffers a terrible tragedy. She meets a woman who thinks she can bond with, having similar experiences, but little does she know that the lady is even crazier than she is. Suffice it to say, this is one of those movies where nothing is what it seems, everyone has a secret to hide, and there are no happy endings, just like in real-life. This movie is definitely not for everyone, but for those that want to see something different, this will be right up your alley. A very pleasant surprise.

but not often, but sometimes, something comes along like this where every character is quietly insane in their own perfect way. I appreciate a story like this. You know somehow this will resolve with an answer, but that answer is as crazy as the rest of everything you’ve just seen. This movie is dark and if you don’t get it, you just don’t. It’s going to be hit or miss with a lot of people. I took a chance and was intrigued. Great indy film making.
  • Something Different - finally!

I got to see PROXY at the Toronto International Film Festival last year and it's a kickass movie. Finally something different. You can see the filmmakers that have influenced Parker to make this. Almost an homage effect. I wouldn't clarify it as Horror per se. It's a psychological suspense movie. Or a slow boiler if you will. Definitely a story I haven't seen anywhere else.

I never write reviews, but I must in this case because I was fooled into watching this movie. I rented this thinking it was going to be a good horror flick given it’s under the horror genre and the guy from You’re Next was one of the starts. The only thing horrifying about this movie is how boring it was and so uneventful. I kept watching it thinking – okay, something good has to happen soon….then near the end I thought – this probably has some sort of great ending….but oh no, none of it, nothing happened! It was a mirror image of a Lifetime movie. Although Lifetime films are probably better. I give it one day until this review section is filled with negative comments. You’ve been warned.
