I really enjoyed this movie. It is just so gentle. Shows great depth of kindness & knowledge at the same time. The balance between all characters is superb. Evan Rachel Wood is glorious in her role. Highly recommend πŸ‘πŸ’œ

Let me say that as a man I rarely rate love stories very high. It's not because I don't believe in love but because most love stories tend to be unrealistic. I can say with no reservations that this story touched me. It did so because the characters were so imperfect that they felt real. There were moments when I didn't like Jay and others when he did the right thing by putting Daisy before himself. There were moments when Daisy was so childlike and naive that she reminded me of my own daughter before she became a know it all teen and others that she displayed the wisdom that only someone who could see the world with fresh new eyes could show. I like this movie because mental illness was not the point of the movie but instead was about two broken people who find some healing for themselves. We all need healing. Every one of us. Most especially the Rotten Tomato critics because they could not appreciate this story for what it was and instead rated it upon what their pompous idea of what makes a good movie good. That's an easy nut to crack. What makes a good movie good is that at some level it moves you. I was moved. That is saying a lot considering that I am a cynical at best world hardened army veteran that lives each day with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that comes with survivors guilt, hyper-vigilance, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, paranoia, and a whole slew of other fun stuff. Suffice it to say that I know from personal experience what mental illness feels like and what a real life psychiatric ward is like. So you Rotten Tomato critics are welcome to come through your bad fruit at me because I liked this movie. And yes, a tomato is a fruit.

I barely EVER write a review. But the low rate annoyed me because critics get caught up into picking into details w/out noticing the essence of the film! It's two "dmaged" very different people who discover and are able to heal each other. They don't take mental illness slightly give no one is actually sick! I say watch it!!!

I was skeptical from all the reviews I had read, but I loved Evan Rachel Wood, so I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did! It's not the best movie of all time but definitely well worth few hours I spent watching it. Evan Rachel Wood's peformance as a sheltered woman being introduced into the real world was lovely and felt very well thought out and deliberate. A real treat to watch if you're looking for a nice way to spend about two hours.

I don’t care what the critics thought. This movie was very enjoyable. It was sincere and it reminded me of the simple pleasures in life- laughter, love, and living in the moment.

there were so many things wrong about this film. The depiction of mental illness, the horrible way the man male character treats women, and the ending that seems not well thought out. Id say wait for red box and get it for $1 if you must see it otherwise don't waste your time/money.
