Description

A.C.O.D. follows Carter (Adam Scott), a seemingly well-adjusted Adult Child of Divorce. Having survived the madness of his parents’ (Richard Jenkins and Catherine O’Hara) divorce, Carter now has a successful career and supportive girlfriend (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). But when his younger brother (Clark Duke) gets engaged, Carter is forced to reunite his bitterly divorced parents and their new spouses (Amy Poehler and Ken Howard) for the wedding, causing the chaos of his childhood to return including his wacky therapist (Jane Lynch).

The cast makes this movie because the script is formulaic and predictable
  • Why is this considered a comedy?

I didn't laugh or even chuckle once. The story line is scattered, the dialog is generic, the characters are moronic, predictable and trite, the attempted humor falls flat at every attempt, and the cherry on top of this beige sundae I just want to forget is the horrible canned ending. This movie had potential considering the cast but it was squandered because the movie execs who put this crap together grossly underestimated the audience once again. Don't waste your time or money!

Great cast, acting and fully realized characters. Watched it twice.

Started strong and just fell flat. Wife and I bailed after an hour. Shame, has a great cast.

Rented it for .99 cents. Probably spent too much... The story and characters never develop. Uninteresting characters you never quite care for, either way. Eighty-eight minutes I'll never get back.
  • Unexpectedly Funny, Over-the-Top but Real

I am a child of 60 year married parents but liked this movie enough to watch it twice. It was a bit of a cause and a comedy, but it dealt with a topic that I have never before seen in a film,… and to be so outrageous but still very real. It is worth owning.

Interesting movie that was worth the $0.99 rental price. Glad I didn't go to a theater to see it.

My rental for this dog was 99 cents, which was 98 cents too much. This film is a total unfunny waste of time! Avoid it.
