This is a crazy story of mutations and genetic tampering and a mastermind who creates his own island of "children" who rise up. It is dark and fascinating. Val Kilmer and Marlon Brando are incredible in this, and you truly feel the fear and fascination of David Thewlis' character through this terrifying story.

I owned this on VHS during the 90's and watched it several times back then and just recently watched it again on my iPad. It really brought back memories. Is it kind of corny? Yes but overall it's a very good movie if you take the time to understand it. It has some great quotes in it also.

An Okay Remake of A Classic Movie!
Not as bad as people have made it out to be. This movie is a remake of
"The Island of Lost Souls"
Not Good- Which is a shame...

I really like Val Kilmer (and he does a delightful impersonation in this film for about 10 seconds) but the movie is awful. I know it had production problems and it really shows. Brando almost seems to be purposefully tanking his part.
Hard to Focus On

This movie was a toss up between being so boring that you cannot stay awake and so confusing that you spent the whole time trying to figure out what and why. The end was a mess and horribly depressing and the whole mess left me feeling so empty. One of the worse movies I have ever seen, a complete disaster. Do not see, I cannot think of a single person this movie would appeal to, even those of us who like to make fun of stupid movies.
