This movie was horrible! Not worth it at all. The story line was terrible and the acting was pretty bad as well.

I usually love Argento's movies... this is just a big disappointment. Week acting, dumb script, ridiculous editing, and the computer generated effects are so bad that a child could have done better... They had some good actors for this waste of time but they looked lost... even the retro old school hacking, and general bloodletting was weak. Stay Away...
Ehhhh...

Yeah I know its supposed to be forbidden on here to write something where you don't either praise the movie or tear it to pieces, especially from some one like Argento. But while there were major changes to the traditional story that I did disliked there plenty of other stuff in her I thoguth was pretty cool. Those cool ones being attempting to connect Dracula's backstory to the original Vlad Thepes Dracula and his reason for Mina being her resemblance to his lost love. Finally due to this being a post Stendal Syndrome Argento most of this movie's running time is made up of nudity, blood and over the top CGI ala 3D.
Blah!

It's like no one was even interested in making a good movie. It's not scary nor romantic (as its stated intent). It seemed simply by accident a good looking shot was producted. For the most part the photography was view as being nothing more than good enough. Bland around. The CGI effects would be rejected by any video game company. And how creepy is it that Argento films a scene with his naked daughter, Asia, being bathed by the actress who plays Mina? Asia, once her Lucy character turned into a vampire, gives a performance as if she's in on a joke that the audience is hidden from. This isn't as bad as Argento's Phantom of the Opera, but it's a very close second.
Profondo Argento - DRAC MANTIS!! Incredible!

You gotta see it to believe it! Mondo Madness at its Best! No wussy twinkling vamps here. If you are sick of the designer vampire garbage on the CW and the unbearable Twilight flicks, check out this ultra violent, bloody, Hammer style throwback with crazy touches of Argento's wild style, incoherence & illogical insanity ... always a plus if you are a fan of Italian and Euro horror! Thats the charm and brilliance of these films if you have a taste for mondo madness and wacky world cinema! Best of all Argento gives you plenty of blood, gore, nudity, decapitations and yes ... A Dracula that turns in to a Giant Killer Praying Mantis. Asia Argento and Rutger Hauer performances are ham and cheese ... but thats whats fun about italo Spaghetti Splatter flicks. a mash up of actors from all over Europe. thomas Kretschmann does ok as Drac ... but is no Christopher Lee. Neither was Gary Oldman. Would rather have seen practical FX instead of CGI. in the end, You will savor some tasty lady vamps , cheesy performances, and the gory ,tomatoe blood saucy bits Most of all ... you will never look the same way at a Praying Mantis again after seeing Argento's Drac. Bravo Dario!
Oh, Lord . . .

At first, I thought it would be interesting as a salute to Dracula movies of the 40's and 50's. But . . . no . . . it's just not very good. The computer generated effects are annoying and badly done not to mention the writing, directing, and acting.
